Land Lines

This Land Art Work comprises two distinctly drawn lines in the landscape, one line defined by a 30m stone wall capped by a clean line of timber, and the other by a 30m clay jetty that runs out along the longest diametric line across the adjacent lake. The point at which the two lines cross provides a key focal point to the reserve. The work is intended to provide a definitive point of arrival within the site, while the line of the wall emphasises the fall of the bank towards the footpath, and the line of the jetty invites people out and into the expanse of the lake. The work has become the central landmark for meeting and congregation by the community that uses and maintains the reserve.
