As a politically and environmentally conscious artist, my art work explores the human relationship with landscape and the environment. I use a strong awareness of aesthetic to design form that successfully communicates its meaning. I am deeply committed to creative education, and am very active in the support and development of my own community. The link that runs through all these activities is a fundamental engagement with our environment, and a struggle to find creative and effective responses to the opportunities it presents us with.
My art works are intended to be points of access through which people may gain a closer engagement with their environment. They become complete in the relationship between the work, its environment and the viewer. The environment of the work is as much a part of the artwork as the built elements. The person who explores the work and engages with it completes the whole.
