The inspiration for the form of this sculpture originates from the shells that scatter the shoreline, from the ever present movement of wind and waves, and from the hulls of the original clinker built boats that the community once fished from, and which can still be occasionally seen about the islands. It creates an interior space of quiet and stillness from the wind, in a cocoon of weaving timbers that imitate the movement of submerged fronds of sea kelp.  The distant shoreline is framed by the internal faces of the cocoon, having the effect of drawing the magnified seascape into the interior space.
